Now as promised I am reviewing Taylor Swift's new album "Red", (which I guess is named after her pussy, given the number of boyfriends she's had), no it's probably because she's more of a Scarlet Letter. But I digress, let's review it shall we. The album kicks off with the track 'State Of Grace' which is a cool song it has a real kind off coldplay feel too it, which is pretty cool, we then move onto the title song 'Red', this song is Taylor Swift doing what she does best real shades of her previous album on this song.
Then we move onto 'Treacherous' which was she sings with a lot of venom, I like when she sings like this, it sounds so powerful I love it. Then we move onto the song 'I Knew You Were Trouble', which was written about a guy who she hadn't even met yet, talk about judgemental, it's dear I say a very catchy song that grows on you and before you know it, your singing along arrrgh!
Next up is 'All Too Well', '22'and 'I Almost Do' which are good songs I especially like the lyric in '22' which goes “You don’t know about me, but you want to,” which is a sort of fuck you to the press who hound her. The next song is 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' which is a song I love, it's kick ass with just the right amount of teen angst I absolutely love this fucking song! I am using it as my break song for my lady friends so they know that they have no fucking chance of getting back with me. We then move onto 'Stay Stay Stay' which is more of her country roots with some snappy lyrics and good guitar.
'The Last Time' features Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol - boring is all I can say.
'Holy Ground' is awesome, with a massive drumbeat it does have a real urgency about it. 'Sad Beautiful Tragic' is another brilliant song, sung it that breathless way and the lyrics are amazing especially coming from a 22 year old country girl.
'The Lucky One' is a good song that deals with the whole fame issue and 'Everything Has Changed' with Ed Sheeran (see my earlier post on his album) is a gem of a song that has great guitar work. We then move onto 'Starlight' and 'Begin Again' round out the end of the album.
All up this is a great album and I will go as far as saying that she is one hell of a songwriter and as I have said before they are certainly a dying breed with the music that is around today so it is really refreshing to see. I especially love that she plays an instrument as well, all up I am giving this 4 and a half shots of whiskey out of five. I definitely recommend this album.
Till next week
PEACE OUT MY BITCHES!
