Neon Heartz - Demo

Picture
Hello my bitches, today I will be reviewing a new group that hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I stumbled across them on twitter. You can hook-up with me on Twitter here.
I must say their seems to be an amazing amount of talent coming from Canada at the moment and I am so jealous!
The band I am reviewing today is Neon Heartz and they are a Dance/ Electro Pop/ Rock/ New Wave band, which seems like a bit of a mouthful, but I will persist.

I must say that I love the name "Neon Heartz" it is just so cool! Now let's get into it shall we?

The first song is 'I Loved You (and I Didn't Try)' this song goes straight into the lyrics, which is very original and I love it, the song starts slowly and has a great beat, the lead singer Lissa Sanderson has an amazing voice and the guitarist Jes Danson, shines on this song especially at about 1:15 into the song, very cool song.

The next song is 'Life'. This song has a real Dance/Top 40 feel to it, I absolutely loved it, the song lyrics are really catchy and before you know it, you're singing along, I especially love the drumbeat in this song, it does make you want to get up and dance and Lissa's voice is superb.

We then move onto the next song "Part Of Me (Belongs To You), this song has such a beautiful piano intro and the lyrics are unreal, a real lament, but that's what makes a great song, you can relate to the lyrics/situation. I love the music in this song, hell, I loved this track. We then move onto the song 'Don't Blame Me For Your Misery' is a more upbeat song and is fucking awesome, dance song, from the driving beat to the rapid-fire lyrics, this song is my favourite and is fucking awesome!

We then move onto the song 'Last Shot To The Heart' with it's synth music and electronic drums is an energetic number but the standout is again that voice, so powerful, so beautiful, with such a rich tone, just awesome, I could listen to it all day, everyday.

The last track I am reviewing is 'Not Own Your Own (Live)' what a fucking cool song, I love when a band sounds as good if not better live than they do in the studio! The mark of a seriously great band is their ability to perform live and I am sure that one-day when I am in Canada I will definitely see them live! Anyway, love this song and it is my new favourite, it has so much raw emotion and the vocals are so powerful, the lyrics are uplifting, this has #1 HIT written all over it!

I must say that I am so glad I stumbled across this band as they are awesome. I am giving them four and a half shots of whiskey out of five, as the songs are awesome and in such a crowded genre Neon Heartz rises to the top!

I am giving Neon Heartz four shots and a half shots of whiskey out of five as the songs are amazing, they are seriously cool, from the music to the lyrics and the gorgeous voice of Lissa these songs will be massive . Look, I loved all the songs and I would have given them five but I couldn't download an album (this little monkey is so old-school, and prefers to play them on his massive stereo that gets him in trouble with the neighbours).

You can check out neon Heartz songs here and follow them on twitter here and you can download (yes I know I prefer the CD but it's pretty much the only way to get new music from up and coming artists) their songs here.
Well that's it from me till next week
Peace out my bitches!

    Music Monkey

What’s up my bitches? I’m Herbie, the music reviewer. I love bananas and whiskey and I just love music and I will rate any CD in my own special way. See what I do is whack the headphones on and play it loud, if I love it and it moves me I will crack out the dance moves (the moonwalk is my signature move, that and the reach around, but that’s another story) or if it’s heavy I will head bang, and if I hate it well the monkey comes out in me and I will usually smear the CD in my own excrement (hey I’m a monkey after all).
